Kite surfing is excellent at the large reefs in the entrance to Ekas Bay and on the broad lagoons and fringing reefs nearby. The winds are best from April to September, as we get the same weather as the very popular kiting site at Lakey Peak in Sumbawa.

If you are feeling active, the waterfall tour on Mt Rinjani Volcano is very popular. You stroll through a short mountain trail to have a refreshing dip under the waterfall surrounded by lush forest and jungle. Walks further into the forest in the Rinjani National Park are beautiful.

Giant coral walls with 80 m drop offs, beautiful sea fans and crusing big palagics. We’ve already found Mola Mola (Giant Sunfish), Black-spotted Stingray, White and Black-tip Reef Sharks, Napoleon Wrasse, Groupers and Bottle-Nose Dolphins! And all the tropical fish, of course. This site is near the Alas Strait … the ocean current that links the Pacific to the Indian Ocean carrying endless nutrients. Unspoiled, well fed and in the tropics!!! … no wonder Big Blue is world class.

“ Adventure playgrounds’’ Just within Ekas Bay, we have large rock boulders covered in coral hiding Scorpion fish to Lion fish, Morey eels and Mantis shrimp. 10-15 m wall with swirly plant decorations. Blue-spotted stingray, and crocodile fish lurking in small caves.

“Nudi Heaven” Beautiful nudi branches, plus more rock bommies with hidden creatures and millions of yellow sea cucumbers. Angel fish, Clown fish, Butterfly fish, Parrot and the usual Indo tropical delights.

“Ekas Coral Garden’’ 2-3 m deep lush coral garden with hard and soft corals over 2 km2. Cabbage, Branching, Elephant Ears, Brain and 100-year-old Table corals. A fabulous and safe/easy dive site, perfect for Introductory lessons on scuba or a romantic dive. We do snorkling trips here too – it’s beautiful.
